The second animal in our Honored Animals Crochet Along is Ra the Camel.
When you think of animals that have been used in war, you usually think of horses, maybe carrier pigeons or dogs. One of the last animals you would think of would be camels, but they are actually excellent animals for many different environments, making them very suited to pre-industrial armies (and even post-industrial armies could benefit from them!)
I think camels are really cool animals and I wanted to make one that was as true to life as I could, so this little guy has two toes to each foot, just like a real camel. His hump is also not filled with water, like a real camel, but unlike a real camel it *is* filled with stuffing, not fat!
For part 1, you will be making all 4 of Ra’s legs, along with 2 toes for each leg and both ears. The toes should be made first, as they will be crocheted into the feet/leg piece so there’s no sewing involved, yay!
So let’s get to it!
