Art the Arctic Puffin Part 2

Hello and welcome to part 2 of Art the Arctic Puffin from the Adorable World of Arctic Animals CAL!

Today, we will be working on the wings (be sure to make 2!), the tail, the belly patch and the white eye patches (make 2 of these, too!).

The materials you will need today are your black and white yarns (weight 4, aran), your 4.5 mm crochet hook, a stitch marker, scissors and a tapestry needle. No stuffing needed today!

Art the Arctic Puffin Pattern Part 2

As a reminder, here are the pattern notes for this pattern:

  • This pattern uses US terminology.
  • ( )- denote a group of stitches worked in the same stitch.
  • [ ]- denote a group of stitches that is repeated as many times as stated.
  • If the number follows the abbreviation (such as “inc 5”), you will work the instructed stitch that many times over successive stitches (in the example, increase in each of the next 5 stitches).
  • Rounds are worked in spiral rounds without joining, unless otherwise stated. A stitch marker is helpful to keep track of rounds (mark the first stitch in each round).

And these are the abbreviations you will need today:

  • sc- single crochet
  • st(s)- stitch(es)
  • inc- increase
  • ch(s)- chain(s)
  • sl st- slip stitch
  • dec- decrease
  • hdc- half double crochet
  • dc- double crochet
  • tr- treble crochet

If you sign up for access to my resource library, you can get a handy printable note card of the standard used crochet abbreviations, as well as some other cool stuff!
